Dibru-Saikhowa National Park is one of the Bio-Diversity hotspots in Assam. It mainly comprise of grassland, while a part of the park is wetland. The combinations of swamp, semi-evergreen and deciduous forests and also the cane and bamboo brakes makes this National Park a Bio-Diversity Hotspot.

Dibru-Saikhowa houses many rare and endangered species of wild life. It’s main attaraction is the White Winged Wood Duckwhich stays happyly in its natural habitat. The bright coloured wild horses which are known as Feral Horses are another species of wild life which makes Dibru Saikhowa very famous.

It is a National Park as well as a Biosphere reserve in the Tinsukia district of Assam. Dibru-Saikhowa’s rich Bio-Diversity makes it an important hotspot among nature lovers and makes a true wonderful Rendezvous with Nature. Spread across an area of 340 sq. kms, it has a unique eco-rich habitat. The park sits on the floodplains of the mighty Brahmaputra and its tributaries Dibang, Dibru and Lohit. Primarily a grassland and swamp, the forest is a true mélange of semi-evergreen and deciduous forests and also cane and bamboo brakes.

Entry : Entry is by written permits issued by the Wild Life Wing of the Forest Department. Guijan Ghat (10km from Tinsukia) and Saikhowa ghat are the two entry points for tourists. Park is out of bounds between sunset and sunrise. Night halt and picnicking inside the Park is strictly prohibited. Distance from Tinsukia to Guijan and Dhola entry point is about 10km and 50km respectively. Buses, Taxies and Autorickshaws are available at Tinsukia.

Rail: Tinsukia is the nearest railway station which has broad gauge connectivity with major cities all throughout the country with express and super fast trains.

Road: Tinsukia town is 500 kms away from Guwahati. NH37 connects it with Dibrugarh town. Regular Bus service, Taxies and Auto rickshaws are available at Tinsukia (13 km).
